Insurance means getting oneself protected against a certain happening. Insurance does not stop the happening of a particular event. In most cases of insurance such as life insurance, the happening cannot be stopped. Thus, insurance does not stop the happening of a particular event. It gives us protection, so that we many not be financially affected by the happening of that particular event. Insurance indemnifies us against the financial loss that we face as a result of happening of the particular event.

Health care insurance is just another form of insurance from amongst the various forms of insurance available in the market. The concept of health care insurance is relatively new as compared to all the other forms of insurance and is slowly but steadily gaining ground.
