Since premiering in early 2025, “The Pitt” has taken the healthcare community by storm. Physicians have praised the series for its realistic depiction of life inside an emergency department (ED) — so much so that some clinicians have suggested it should qualify for continuing medical education credits.
“Healthcare workers in emergency medicine say, ‘I’ve never been able to explain in words what I go through at work. I have never been able to tell people what my shift is like,’ and now they’re seeing it in real time,” executive producer Joe Sachs, MD, told MedPage Today last year. Sachs, who is also a practicing emergency physician, has been described by his co-executive producer as the show’s “secret weapon.”
Join us for a live conversation with Sachs about his experience bringing “The Pitt” to life, and to learn about how storytelling can shape public understanding of life on the front lines of healthcare.
