After Mayo Clinic medical student Nick Baumel went viral for posting misogynistic content online, ob/gyn Sameena Rahman, MD, raised the alarm about systemic sexism in medicine and society at large, and criticized the “hysterical woman” trope.

Meanwhile, ob/gyn Jennifer Lincoln, MD, called on the Mayo Clinic to respond.

“Medical education reform…[is] being hijacked by people who have never sat in a lecture hall, survived a call night, or signed a contract they didn’t fully understand,” said pediatrician Katheryn Hudon, DO, after HHS announced an initiative to increase nutrition education in medical school. Hudon proposed 10 other ideas for reform “that would actually matter.”

Public health expert Jessica Knurick, PhD, RDN, explained how preventive vitamin K shots in infants work after a study found a rise in parents refusing them.

“Women who report abusive men face more consequences than the men do,” said surgical oncologist Amani Jambhekar, MD, MBA, on Threads.

It’s a healthcare love story! In the “Love Is Blind” reality TV show reunion, emergency physician Haramol Gill, MD, and infectious diseases doctor Jessica Barrett, DO, surprised the audience by announcing their relationship.

“You see that A1c? You’re grounded.” Dermatology resident @thefaithfuldoctor took the same critical eye to her parents’ bloodwork as they did to her report cards.

“Hospital discharge before noon policies are bad for everybody,” said internal medicine physician Nicole J. Van Groningen, MD, who broke down the reasoning behind the common hospital policy and clarified what studies say about its efficacy.

Clinicians working night shifts last weekend got a helping hand from daylight saving time, as @nurseblake demonstrated.

Fibermaxxing? Digestive enzymes? Gastroenterologist @socalgastrodoc reviewed viral gut health trends.
