$100M Teen Death Lawsuit; Nurse’s Deadly Car Crash; EpiPen Settlement Reached

The family of an Oregon teen who died after a doctor stitched up a cut but allegedly failed to remove the pine needles and moss that were lodged inside filed a $100 million lawsuit against a hospital and physicians. (OregonLive)

Federal prosecutors said they are suing Florida immunologist Kevin Rosenbach, MD, for allegedly making fake diagnoses and submitting false claims to Medicare for subcutaneous immune globulins.

North Carolina’s attorney general said he reached an $11 million settlement with EpiPen drugmaker Mylan after accusing it of jacking up prices.

A company that makes mobile positron emission tomography (PET) scans will pay $8.3 million to resolve allegations that it paid referring cardiologists excessive fees to supervise PET scans, the Department of Justice (DOJ) said.

The DOJ asked a federal court to enforce a subpoena that asks Rhode Island Hospital to turn over records related to youth gender care.
